A Short Commentary on the Flags of the World Have you ever noticed why there's not really any flag of any nation on the globe that has any purple on it? This is because when countries were forming early on, the color purple was expensive (same reason only emperors of Rome only ever had purple clothing, because purple dye from the shellfish in Tunisia was expensive.). Now, that is understandable, but what about the countries that have flags now that have no purple? Well, some people just aren't creative. And we can agree that the USA has the best flag EVER?! Scotland's is interesting (maybe I'm just biased, being of Scottish stock m'self), but look at Ukraine's:     How boring is that?! A yellow stripe and a blue stripe. Nothing. Else. Italy, Ireland, Germany, these country's flags have one thing in common: They are boring, because nobody really thought about the design. (In my opinion, at least.)  My name is Conlin McClaflin.  I am a soon-to-be-graduated senior in high school. I have a love of history, fantasy, and too many other things to put here. They will come out as this blog becomes longer and longer.  I called this blog the Continuous Changes because I couldn't think of anything else to call it, and because I am going to be continually changing it! I included the word 'wee' in this title because I also love Scotland. My family is Scottish (among six other things, maybe more), and as my web address it kiltedpatriotatheart, that is a reference to what I would do if I was a Jacobite soldier in the 1745 Jacobite uprising. (And yes, I do have a kilt!) [And if anybody thought I would reference William Wallace there, I will get to that later on, most likely. If you don't want to have Braveheart ruined by a history junkie, then don't bother reading the post.] I would be strong and faithful to my clan and country. I declare that as an American as well. I am st
