Maundy Thursday

 MAUNDY THURSDAY

If there's anybody out there who celebrates Easter, you'll probably know that today is Maundy Thursday. This is the day that, 2,000 years ago, Jesus instituted Communion, washed the disciple's feet, and took them out into the Garden of Gethsemane, where he was betrayed by Judas Iscariot.. Four days before, he had come riding into Jerusalem on a donkey's colt, the people crying 'Hosanna!' Barely twelve hours from now, those same people, having found that he would not be a political king to save them from the Romans, screamed again, but different words: 'Crucify Him, crucify Him!'

A Short Commentary on the Flags of the World Have you ever noticed why there's not really any flag of any nation on the globe that has any purple on it? This is because when countries were forming early on, the color purple was expensive (same reason only emperors of Rome only ever had purple clothing, because purple dye from the shellfish in Tunisia was expensive.).   The Arrest of the Knights Templar This post is a little late in coming.       There isn't many people who don't know about the Knights Templar. Two weeks ago, an anniversary pertaining to this holy order of knights was on the calendar, though not many people might know about it. This was the date of the arrest of every single French Templar in the Order.      The Order of the Knights Templar was founded in Jerusalem in 1118, or 1119. The exact date is uncertain. Its full name was the Poor Knights of Christ and the Temple of Solomon. The name varies as to which source you use. In the beginnings of their history, they were called the Poor Fellow-soldiers of Jesus Christ, then later on, the Knights of the Temple of Solomon.
